THE WOMAN BEHIND

KARUMA

She grew up in the Black Forest

Not near it, not visiting it. In it.

As a child, her grandfather led her to the most hidden corners of the forest, places no map could find. He taught her to listen. To the birds. To the trees. To the silence between sounds. That silence never left her, and neither did the stillness it brought. She who has learned to hear the forest is rarely shaken by the noise of the world.

She went on to study fashion design, graduating as a state-certified fashion designer in 2016. Her first steps in the industry took her to China, where she discovered the power of dramatic silhouettes, the art of long flowing garments and the ancient relationship between clothing and identity. It was there that a seed was planted, one that would eventually bloom into something rooted much closer to home.

One day she searched for a luxury kimono robe that carried the soul of the Black Forest – its animals, its light, its ancient secrets. She found nothing. So she created it herself.

That is how KARUMA was born.

The name is no coincidence. Karuma - the Japanese word for Karma. A reminder that how we move through this world matters. That every living being deserves respect. That animals are not beneath us - they are beside us, and often above us.

Born in the Black Forest. Built into a brand.🖤

German Kimono Fashion Designer from the black forest

the designer

In ihm.

Also erschuf sie ihn selbst.
